DNS issue?
Hi guys, on my network there is 2 servers running win server 2k3, on one of them DHCP is enabled and it is the main domain controller, when loggin in to pcs connected to this domain it is very fast, but the problem is the other domain, when I am trying to login using the workstation it takes like 15mins to go to the desktop. This server DHCP is disabled, I believe this is coz the main server is already using DHCP. In the workstation, I pointed the DNS to this server's IP and still no improvement. Anyone could gimme any idea on why this is so? I'm not very good with win server 2k3 so any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Re: DNS issue?
You said you have two servers what exactly are their individual roles in the domain? Are both server joined to the domain as DC's? How many Domain sites are you running? Do your users have Roaming Profiles?
Please provide a little more info on the above questions. I have any idea about what could be the issue but I need more info to narrow it down.

Re: DNS issue?
DHCP and DNS are different issues and all client systems need
that you can access the Internet. accessing sites via a browser, email or some infrastructure server is then a DNS resolution issue. |
