Re: how to standardize my user profile

With roaming profiles, make sure you have plenty of bandwidth available across your network, I even suggest giganet switches / cards. Depending on the size of the profile, it can take a few minutes for the new profile to load.

My suggestion for a roaming profile fix is a program like script logic desktop authority. I have around 60 workstations, and 4 buildings. Users use different desktops, but with this program the mapped drives are the same and so are the security settings, no matter where they sit.

Do you have a folder setup for the users roaming profile?

Re: how to standardize my user profile

in AD under the profile tab, theres a location for profile path.. this folder should be the location of the users profile. That way, when they switch from computer to computer, it auto grabs this profile.

Also, make sure they have permission to access this folder. I see so many people forget to enable permissions.
