How to set up domain credential
I am a beginner on Windows domain administration. I have two PCs running Windows 2003 server. The first PC is called of 2003AD. it is a domain controller with active directory. It is also the DNS and DHCP server. The name of the domain is called mypc.local.
The 2nd PC is called 2003nodeA. it has a local logon ID of administrator with full admin authority. I have no problem join the 2nd PC (2003nodeA) to the domain mypc.local. But I am not sure what to do next if I want to logon the 2nd PC using a domain credential instead of using the local logon. When I sleect domain "MYPC" from the logon option drop down and logon as administrator, the logon fails. I was wondering what should I do in order to allow the second PC to logon to the domain. I was told that the logon credential of the second PC will be forwarded to the AD when it joins the domian. But I may be wrong or misunderstand it. If the credential is not forwarded, then I should add a domain ID for the second PC , am I right ? If so what authority should I give to the new ID ? |

You need to setup users on your 2003 server. If that computer is joined to the domain then any users that is created in Active Directory should be able to logon to that computer.
