ADPrep Error
I am installing a new 2003 R2 server onto a domain with all 2003 servers. When I go to DCPromo the new one, it comes up with an error telling me to run ADPrep. This didn't happen for 14 servers, but this one it does. And from what I read, ADPrep is for a 2000 - 2003 upgrade tool.
??? Confused

Thanks, but I ended up figuring it out.
There is a difference between Server 2003 and the R2. You need to run ADprep off from the R2 cd2, on your DC first (adprep /forestprep, adprep /domainprep, adprep /domainprep /gpprep) in that order. after running these, I was able to DCPROMO the new server to be a domain controller.
