Renaming a Domain

I just found out that our company has merged with another company and we are taking on ther name. The big wigs want us to change our domain name and the names of all our servers.

Correct me if I am wrong but to change name of the root forest domain, wouldn't it be required to rebuild the servers.

I have a headache.

I feel your pain.... "All you have to do is change the name" I don't know of anyway to change the domain of a DC without having to rebuild it. What's in a name, right?

Well if that ain't a ticking bomb. Has anyone ever tried those tools? Give us some more information on your forest.

It's just a single AD domain of 85 users. We have a SQL server, webserver, and (choke) an Exchange server. All running Win2K3.

I have seen the tools that Squashman had linked but has anyone used them before? What to expect, downtime, etc.? We had planned this over New Years weekend because that's when the developers planned on switching over to SQL 2005. (great way to bring in the new year)
