Window Server 2003 simple network access to XP
Hi, I've got a windows server 2003 and a window XP machine networked to my switch. I have not decided to setup a domain yet but would like to do a simple networking of my computers. At the moment I can gain network access to my shares on the windows 2003 machine by using my server admin account. Unfortunately I can not gain access from the server to my xp box. From the server when I click on the XP machine to gain network access I get the common dialog box asking for a user name and password. The only thing is the user name text field it not editable and only features a guess account login. I am at a lost as to why this is and how can I make changes so that I can use any user name. I have search on the web about local security policies and guess account logins but have not found anything specific to my problem of having an editable login box. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
