Adding users to small business server 2003
Hi,
I would like to install small business server 2003 STD, and I have license for only 5 CALs. I would like to know if I will be able to open more then 5 users before I purchase some more CALs, or will the server won't let me do so. Thanks, Assaf |

By using per-server licensing, 5 clients can connect simultaneously, and any others will be locked out.
The advantage to doing it this way is that you can have fewer licenses than users, banking on the hope that not all will want to log on at the same time. Per-seat licensing tells the server no to worry, as each client has its own license. This is more costly, but will gurantee every user can log on at any time. |
