HELP!!!!!! I don't know what to do??

I purchased a used CPU, it seemed to work fine in the thrift shop.
Now that I have it home, it has lines all through my text, when I scroll up or down, the text follows, like, it repeats a million times, the screen seems to double, part of turns black, I tried to download a pc game, it comes up black, and the colors are all messed up. What is this, and what can I do, I don't money to put it in the shop.
Please help if you can

Hello and Welcome to TSF

Right click on an empty part of your desktop click Properties. Click the settings tab, how many colors are shown?

Sounds to me like a resolution problem also... although I think this involved more with the frequency. Are you using a different monitor than the one that you tried in the shop? If so, I would check the refresh frequency.
