WIN2000 wireless config help
Could you assist me in configuring my Compaq Armada laptop for wireless. I've got the older 802.11b Netgear WAP. It's working fine as my son's XP laptop connects with ease. It is not restricted with # of simultaneous users, or passwords/encription, etc. - but I can't seem to get my Win2000 based laptop to connect. The laptop was working fine at work on an intranet. So I'm assuming I just need to configure wireless to see my generic home network.

Dhcp?
Make sure that your DHCP device is allowed to give out enough addresses for you to connect. I had the same problem. I have a cable/router then a WAP upstairs.. couldn't figure out why I could not get a new device to connect. My WAP was looking to the cable router for DHCP and there were no more available IPs.
