Hi all,

I feel like I'm at a dead end so would appreciate some support.

I bought some new desktop components over a year ago, and my PC has been crashing and annoying me ever since.

Hardware:
- Intel E8400 Duo Core 3.0 Ghz
- Intel D975 XBX Motherboard
- Kingston DDR2 667 memory 4 gig
- Geforce 8800GT Video Card
- WD Raptor 73GB hard disk


Problems:
- Unstable during games. Random crashes; fails to install games properly a lot of the times.
- Randomly crashes firefox
- Blue screens with some frequency (see end of post for specifics)

In all, the system feels very unstable, even though I manage to play games on it now and then.


What I have done so far:

I have formatted and re installed windows at least six times; all XP, but different versions and different drivers for my motherboard/videocard. I have also used the latest BIOS version for this particular motherboard.

I have removed my second hard disk, which did make it more stable, especially during bootup (it would often hang and do nothing)

I have run some diagnostic tools: memtest gives no problems with the memory;
I ran the Ultimate Boot CD, which tested the memory as fine too;
The CPU tests I'm not sure about. They ran for a while and then the screen went black, and nothing happened anymore.



I am not familiar with this forum yet, just found it, so please excuse me if this is the wrong place. Also, if any more information is required, do ask.

PS: In case it's of use, here's some of the blue screen info:

- Nothing except 'STOP's; 0x0000008e; 0xc000001d; 0xb3a3ba1c; 0x000000000; 0xe11f0001; to name a few.
