RAID 10 Weirdness
We have a Super Micro Server 6025-B that utilizes an onboard Adaptec AIC-9410AS controller.
We utilize a RAID10 setup with 8 drives in 2 arrays in the following manner: A is 2x75GB Disk 150GB Stripe on 0/2 with 1/3 as the mirror. (partitioned as C:50GB D:100GB) B is 2x150GB Disk 300GB Stripe on 4/6 with 5/7 as the mirror (partitioned as E:100GB F:200GB). ![]() I came into our server sqealing and messages that indicated Array A & B were degraded. These are the steps that happened. I rebooted and Array A rebuilt itself and showed OK. Array B had a Bad 4 disk. Changed Disk and rebooted. Array B started rebuilding. Array A then showed Good Disk but Disk 1 seemed to have dropped out of the Array instead of status 'optimal' it said 'ready'. Array B rebuilt over a 14 hour period and went optimal. Seems OK. No error messages yet Drive 1 is a different color and when we hover over the brown disk it says 69.072 GB RAID 10 Segment. When we hover over the blue one is says 69.072 GB Available Segment. Like it's no longer part of the array. ![]() Any ideas as to why this drive is in this status or condition? |
