SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 migration question

We have a new SBS 2008, a SBS 2003 and a Server 2003 Standard server in our network. We would like to keep the SBS 2003 server in place for routing but I am aware of the 21 days to remove the DC roles from the server. Will the routing functionality still work after demoting it and can I keep the server on the domain as a domain member? The server has 2 NICs and all the network traffic passes through it before going to the firewall. I would like to keep using it that way if possible.

Thanks

Re: SBS 2003 to SBS 2008 migration question

You can only have 1 SBS server in a domain, and it must hold all of the FSMO roles. Once you migrate from 03 to 08, it's basically over for the 03 SBS server.

You can use the server if you reload another OS only.
