ipconfig/all displays node type as 'unknown', why?

This issue can occur if the EnableProxy key in the registry is set to bigger than 1.. To fix this issue, run Regedit and go to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Netbt\Parameters\ Change the value of the EnableProxy value in the preceding registry key to 0 or 1, and then renew ip |
