Resize partition with hardware RAID1 in Windows Server 2003!
I have a DELL server Power-edge T100 with Windows Server Enterprise 2003, and Symantec Endpoint Anti-virus deploy to all clients.
In my server there are: 2 Harddisk SATA-2 (500GB x 2) in RAID-1 with 2 partitions: -C: 10GB -D: 445GB 1 Harddisk SATA-2 1000TB for file sharing. Now,my driver C: is full, and i want to enlarge the partition C: and reduce D: to 400GB. Maybe someone have met the this problem, and I appreciate any recommendation to solve my problem. Thanks, SV |

Re: Resize partition with hardware RAID1 in Windows Server 2003!
Yes, acronis can solve the problem, but I have checked before, the server edition is $699, too expensive in my opinion, in fact, I use partition magic alternative, it works very well on my server with raid. This sw has another advantage that it can resize the partitions without reboot, so you can resize the server without downtime.
Here is a tutorial how to resize raid 1 virtual partition http://www.partition-tool.com/resource/how-to-resize-raid-1-without-data-loss.htm
