why remote user can log on at the same time when local user log on
hi,
I am running windows servers 2003 64 bit on a dell poweredge 2650. My problem is that as i am login as an administrator, another person can also remotely logon to this coputer at the same time, without forcing me off, or notified the remote user anything that another person is currently logon. or, I can logon to this computer with Administrator account and go on to a different computer an try to remote desktop to that computer wit the same Administrator account, it will also work; without notifying me anything. Does anyone knows a fix for this? I don't want two pple using the same computer at the same time. Thanks. |

Re: why remote user can log on at the same time when local user log on
rdp lets 2 ppl login at a time, just the way it works.
You can go into settings and set it to just allow one username per login, but a second user with a diff name can still login. |

Re: why remote user can log on at the same time when local user log on
xp is a desktop system ... its hard limited to 1 user.
server systems are made so more then one admin can login and work. Are these "servers" just xp boxes? This is a feature, so it makes complete sence .. what if two admins need to work on the same server at the same time ... |

Goto System Properties --> Remote --> Disable "Enable Remote Desktop on this computer". So nobody can login in to server through Remote Desktop Connection.

Re: why remote user can log on at the same time when local user log on
but then no one can rdp into it, i have already told him, he needs to disable a setting in terminal server config.
terminal server config, settings, ristrict users to one session. This will prevent two users from loging in as the same user on the server .. but wont stop 2 users with diff usernames from logining in. |
