Different DNS settings for specific workstations?
We use OpenDNS to filter sites. However, we would like some users to be on the filter and some users to not have a filter. This would involve having some user's DNS manually set to OpenDNS's dns, while the others are set to the default.
The only way I have found to do this so far is to use a .bat script and have it run in Group Policy for the users that I want to have it. The problem with this is these users are limited users and can't change the TCP-IP settings, so the script doesn't work for them. So the questions are: 1. Anyone know a different way to specify a specific DNS for some users and not others? or 2. Is there any way for that script to be run elevated? The server is 2003 and the stations are XP Pro. They are all on a local domain hosted on the 2003 box. |
