Restrict NT Printer Redirection
I manage two (2) terminal servers that have Windows 2003 Server on them. I have a hand full of employees that use laptops setup as domain PC's (Win XP Pro SP 2-3), while the rest of the employees connect directly to terminal session via Winterm's.
The problem is that those employees who connect to terminal session via MSTSC on their domain PC's, carry over the NT Printers that are added on their domain PC's. This results in duplicated NT printers on terminal session. For example; an employee will have access to print-server\printer1 on their domain PC. When they connect to a terminal session the same printer will be there because they have access to that printer, but there will also be print-server\printer1 (from domain PC) in session 12. It seems anyone with a domain PC, when they connect to terminal session can see everyone else's NT printers from their domain PC session. How can I stop this from happening? It's more of an annoyance than a direct problem, but some people have three or four of the same NT printer when they connect to terminal session via domain PC because others have that NT printer on their domain PC. Thanks. |
