extreme firefox issues
I am running XP SP3. I tried firefox 3.0.x and the new firefox 3.5 and am having a really bad problem. I noticed the last couple days that inet speed on my laptop is REALLY slow (60kb/s download speeds when the rest of the machines here are getting 4MB/s). I had time to look into it today and when I was running wireshark I noticed that everytime I request a page, GET /, that firefox sends the same request 50-100 times for every page. it got so bad that google blocked me for being malware with repeated requests. I am currently using IE (typing in it now) until this is resolved, but could use some help. I tried googling but don't really see anything. I don't think tis malware or virus or anything of that sort.
also I have uninstalled firefox already, redownloaded installer, installed again and its still doing it. i dont have windows firewall on, and had comodo firewall on, but uniinstalled it and rebooted and same thing. I have avira AV as well, but it would be quite odd if that was it, going to test it after this post. |
