Remote Desktop HELP! (Bit more to it)
Now our office computer (1st)(Server 2003 SP2) was working fine and I had no trouble logging into my office computer (2nd)(XP SP2) from my home computer (3rd)(XP SP2).
Now we have opened another office across town. I setup a VPN and all was fine, I could still access server files and use Outlook through our mail server at our main office. No problems at all... Until I went home and tried to access my office computer. I cannot access my office computer from home anymore, I did notice that if I went to the (1st)(Server 2003 SP2) computer and explored the network I could only see the local "plugged directly in" computers and none of the VPN computers on the network. How do I setup this so that I still can access my office computer from home?

Re: Remote Desktop HELP! (Bit more to it)
Does your 1st server have a public IP address or were you using NAT to connect?
If it had a public IP address what is returned when you run a traceroute from your home PC? Have you configured any ACLs on your edge router? |

Re: Remote Desktop HELP! (Bit more to it)
Thank you : Prometheus_Fire and HussainU, sorry about the slow reply to your answers, I've had the man flu and you know nasty that can be, I'm not being even close to being a GODs toe nail when it comes to computers but here goes,
Firstly I should of made it clear that my computer was at the main office and worked fine from there when accessing it from home, it was only after my office computer was moved across town that I could no longer access my office computer from home Our server has a public ip as this is how we had a working system that had no problems before the move. I think. Not 100% of what you mean an not up with things hence the asking for help. Thanks. |

Re: Remote Desktop HELP! (Bit more to it)
Did your office change ISPs when it moved?
