Windows Server 2003, Netgear Switch, NTL 255 Modem, ...

Hello everyone.

I have a server running Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard Edition, with Windows XP Professional clients. This is setup as a domain controller, DHCP server, DNS server, etc... Anyway this was all working fine. I had a BELKIN N1 Vision router, which my Virgin Media DSL modem plugged in behind this and my computers went into the router also, including the server. The DHCP server was switched off in the router so the server could take on this role so the domain ran smoothly. Anyway: I have now replaced my router with a Netgear FS116 16-port Switch and a Netgear WNHDE111 Access Point. I know that I now need something set up for routing. Is there a way I could use Windows Server 2003 as a router, and still use it for DNS; DHCP etc?

At the minute I can only connect one computer to the switch as it uses the one and only external (public) IP address from my ISP.

My current topology is:

Internet > Modem > Switch <Server; Clients; Access Point

Is this the correct setup I need for the server to route the internet to all clients etc?

Hi,

The network setup which you have is not correct.
Go for NAT device to connect multiple computers
you can also use the server to route,but additional setup may be needed
