Boots only into safe mode...what now?
Hi folks,
Last night I defragged my C drive and then used XXClone to clone my startup disk to a usb drive. Early on in the clone process I got this prompt: "Application popup: windows-delayed write failed: windows was unable to save all the data for the file \Device\Harddiskvolume16\$mft. The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connectiob. Please try to save this file elsewhere." No my pc hangs on boot at the Windows splash screen. I can get in to safe mode but I'm not sure how to troubleshoot from here. I am also unable to type msconfig in the cmd line, as I get a prompt 'cannot find the file 'msconfig' (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all required libraries are available'. Any advice appreciated! Thanks, Steve |
