I have been running my server for several years without issues, however I found that I could not get IP addresses from the server.
Upon looking in the DHCP administration panel, I found that all of my IP addresses in my scope were used up and were labled with BAD_ADDRESS. After doing some digging I looked in my DHCP log and found many of the following entries: 11,05/15/09,08:52:24,Renew,192.168.0.56,Wireless_Broadband_Router.wtbhome.net,0018017032BC, 13,05/15/09,08:52:24,Conflict,192.168.0.56,BAD_ADDRESS,, However the IP address keeps incrementing each time as expected. Does anyone have an idea what might be going on here? FYI, My network consists of a Cisco 800 series router/firewall connected to the Internet then a gigabit switch with all of the computers and the server connected. I also have an Actiontec router attached to the switch that hands out DHCP addresses to Verizon FiOS set top boxes. The set top boxes get 192.168.1.x addresses from the Actiontec and it gets a 192.168.0.x address from the server. It looks like the Actiontec may be the culprit, but need to make an airtight case before contacting Verizon. So, I need to know what else I can do to troubleshoot this. Thanks in advance! |

Re: W2K3 Server DHCP problems
It labels it with Bad Address if it has a successful ping request
