how to check RAID 1 is ok
Hi,
I've made raid 1 in my win 2008 server (standard) with 2 HDD. But, how can I understand that it's working? I've found a solution in oogle search-remove HDD 1 by 1 & booting the system. But, some people also saying that, once removing 1 HDD, the mirror will be broken!!! So...waiting for answer. ~r

Re: how to check RAID 1 is ok
What controller are you using? Check to see if there is a raid monitoring tool for it. For example IBM servers mostly use ServeRaid, LSI controllers have Megaraid etc etc.

Re: how to check RAID 1 is ok
First, is it hardware or software?
If you remove a drive, the mirror will be broken, but it should sync back up when its pluged in. If software raid you can test it by booting to the secondary plex. If hardware, just look in the control, it will show the health. |
