IP address conflicts

Hello, I have Windows 2003 installed on an IBM HS21 blade. The subnet is an isolated lab subnet and I know for a fact that the IP addresses I'm trying to use are not in use.

However, regardless of whether I'm using DHCP or static, the Windows 2003 blade thinks that every IP I try is already in use. I have 10 other HS21 blades running linux using static IP's that are all running fine.

Has anyone run into an issue like this before? I've tried static, DHCP, and DHCP with reservation via MAC address and nothing is working.

turns out that its a config issue with the cisco switch on the ibm blade chassis itself

weird though that all the linux works fine but the windows isnt

does linux even warn you of ip/name conflicts?

but unlike windows it wont stop you from using it.
