DFS File Replication
First, please let me know if there is a better forum or board for DFS questions...
Next, I have a website on a webserver / webfarm setup. 5 webservers in the farm and the website is approximately 14000 files big. When we push a new build we need to push the entire set of files (14000). It seems like DFS replication is taking awhile on this and isnt reliable. Perhaps I dont have DFS setup properly (its the new DFSR with 2003 R2). I am thinking it might be better to just push to one webserver and the Copy across to the other web servers. Does anybody have any thoughts on whether or not DFS is a viable solution in my scenario? Any other comments or suggestions? Thanks Lance |

Re: DFS File Replication
I would not have used dfs for this .. but it should work as long as it is static content.
I would have jsut copied to one server, then copy to the rest via a script. dfs does not always replicate quickly, dont want 4 webservers, all with slightly diffrant content untill dfs replicates. |
