Server 2003 Domain name
I have a new server (2003) I set up the domain and dns information but i am finding out that the login domain name can only be 15 characters, well my domain name is 16 characters and it leaves the last letter off on the login screen. how can i fix this issue ? if you go into active directory the domainname.local is exactly as i put it, if i right click properties it shows the pre windows 2000 login name minus the last character. is there something i can do to fix this.

Re: Server 2003 Domain name
When you installed the OS you set it up to be compatible with pre-windows 2000 clients/servers. Here is a link to MS that talks about it. Not sure that you can necessarily back out of it once it's been installed.

Re: Server 2003 Domain name
The only way i know of is to demote the server and then set it up again with the correct permission settings
