GPO Assigned package - installing every time on restart?

Hi,

Just new here and 1st post so sorry if im in wrong place!!

I have setup a gpo to assign an msi package to all ou client computers. It seems to have worked fine, but i have noticed that every time a computer restarts.....the package is reinstalled again.

Is this right?....or shouldnt the package just be installed the once?

I understand that if I assigned it to users instead of computer that it would install for each user which ever computer they logged onto....but surely if I assign it to a computer(s) it should install once and thats that??

Any advice appreciated.

Nope, when the GPO is applied, it will run anything that is specified. It doesn't really know and/or care that it's an installer versus a simple application that you need running all the time.
