Duplicate domain controller?
Last week my install of SBS 2003 started shutting down due to license violations saying it found more than 1 domain controller on the same network.
Now since my network is suposed to have ZERO domain controllers, this tells me something is messed up somewhere in the server's configuration. My "network" consists of 3 PCs. SBS 2003 as a file/web and db server. desktop running xp x64, and my laptop running vista-64. the only recent software I installed was oracle. Aside from reloading the whole mess (which is tempting) - how do I fix my server's identity crisis ? |

Re: Duplicate domain controller?
copy & paste from the eventlog shows this:
Multiple domain controllers running Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server have been detected in your domain. This computer will shut down in 60 minutes unless you remove all but one of these from the domain. Source: SBCore EventID: 1012 Multiple domain controllers running Windows Server 2003 for Small Business Server have been detected in your domain. To prevent this computer from shutting down in the future, you must remove all but one of these from the domain. Source: SBCore eventID: 1011 ---------------------------------- I also see bunches of events like this one: The Security System detected an authentication error for the server <username>/bigyan.yans.local. The failure code from authentication protocol Kerberos was "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request. (0xc000005e)". where <username> is LDAP or cifs. Also poking around i see errors relating to attemts to remove DNS entries -- in particular one relating to a PC i gave my nephew for christmas. |
