site-to-site VPN Problem

Hey all, I am a new guy here.
Recently i got a problem with the PPTP VPN connection
We are using windows server 2003 for the VPN server, and there are total 3 VPN clients that they are all using Windows XP.
All of the 3 clients are at the different location. Because of the server side doesn't have a static IP, we using the "NO-IP" to set up a Domain name for the VPN host name and all of the Client and server is behind a router.
Here is the main problem, when all the 3 clients connect to the server through the VPN tunnel, they can all successfully connect. But after a while, some how they disconnect from the server unexpectedly. And the error message are "Error 800: Unable to establish the VPN connection. The VPN server may be unreachable, or secunity parameters may not be configured properly for this connection."
It look like all of the 3 clients cannot connect to the server at the same time. Can anyone tell me can the windows pptp support the multiple connection? and actually what cause the disconnection?

Re: site-to-site VPN Problem

you have desktops connecting to a server via vpn? If so thats not site to site.

You can have tons of pptp connections .. is your ip changing during the connection?

do all 3 clients disconnect when you get that message?

Re: site-to-site VPN Problem

I wouldn't do that, especially via VPN. I'd have each user use their own username and password. Is it possible that your internet connection is causing little drops in connectivity for the remote users? I'd start by looking at what users are doing inside the network to see what kind of bandwidth they're using. I've been amazed how many times remote users complain about their "computers being slow" when in actuality it's local users doing things like streaming video, audio, and large file downloads. Also make sure you check your system logs to see if there is anything in there pointing to a possible cause.

Re: site-to-site VPN Problem

What kind of internet service do you have, static or dynamic? What kind of router are you using?

Confused Re: site-to-site VPN Problem

I would ast your ISP to get you a static IP, it would make it a great deal easier without it changing all the time and you can usually get them for free
