[Windows 7] Beta Build 7000 benchmarked!!
Performance comparison between the Windows 7 beta and it's older brothers
How well does Windows 7 Ultimate x64 Beta Build 7000 perform? Let's compare it with Windows Vista Ultimate x64 SP1 and Windows XP Professional x86 SP3. Test system Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 @ 3GHz, 4GB RAM, nVidia GTX260 CORE216 ![]() ![]() ![]() SuperPi Mod 1.5 Scores (1M test, less time is better) Windows 7 Ultimate x64 beta: 17.226 sec Windows Vista Ultimate x64: 17.834 sec Windows XP Professional x86: 17.031 sec I ran into some trouble trying to run 3DMark05 and 3DMark06 on a 64 bit platform. 3DMark05 kept hanging after the second cpu test both on Windows 7 and Vista but worked fine on Windows XP. 3DMark06 didn't work at all. When you try to run the program it will display an error that OpenAL is not working. This problem occured both on Windows 7 and Vista but Windows XP ran it just fine. It could be possible that OpenAL is not compatible with a 64 bit platform. |

Re: [Windows 7] Beta Build 7000 benchmarked!!
Yes i ran those tests. I was very curious about how well they would perform next to each other. The results are quite good in my opinion. It's still a beta so performace could be still improved in the final product. :)
