Hello,
Hopefully this is simple, but then again with microsoft there is not such thing : ). Anyways the question is, I have a single server exchange 2003, and they want to upgrade to 2007, question is how, is there a way to get another server and piggy back on it with 2003? or can I just install 2007 over it, if so, is there a simple how to that goes over everything, like make sure certain services are off, running sysprep, forestprep domain prep etc? Also does anyone have a guide, tutorial and/or how to install a backend exchange 2003 and a front end 2007, or both 2007 front and backend? Thank you |

Re: exchange upgrade from 2003 to 2007
First off you should read some ms docs. You can not do a direct upgrade to 2007.
You need to get a new server, join it to the exchange org, and it will be in its own administrative group. Then you will need to move mailboxes to the 2007 server. 2007 no longer has frontend / backends .. 2007 can be a mailbox server (2003 backend) or a edge, transport, um, ect servers. |
