Directory Services Restore Mode Password
Hello,
my question is, where are the Directory Services Restore Mode Password stored on a Windows 2003 DC? is its possible tu authenticate on a up and running system using this password? thanks in advance, Alex |

no. It can only be used if you put the server in Directory Services Restore Mode .. aka rebooting server.
What are you trying to do? If you are locked out of the server i would look online for a AD reset tool ... |

I want to find a posibility to have acces to a DC in a up and running infrastructure, without any DC restart or pw reset. All that I know is the DSRM password. :)
