Default Gateway & DNS Not Assigned -SBS2003
Clients on a SBS2003 network are not being assigned a DNS address or default gateway.
I have the following scope options set up in DHCP server: 003 Router Standard (LAN IP Address) Default Routing and Remote Access Class 006 DNS Server Standard (LAN IP Address) Default Routing and Remote Access Class 015 DNS Domain Name (Company domain name) Default Routing and Remote Access Class Also, when setting WAN to Basic Firewall only in RRAS, the internet connection is lost on clients (with DNS and Default Gateway static on client LAN connection). Is this related? |

Re: Default Gateway & DNS Not Assigned -SBS2003
Ok, i have managed to solve the problem by adding the following scope:
003 Router Standard (LAN IP Address) None 006 DNS Server Standard (LAN IP Address) None So i'm assuming that there is something wrong with the RRAS? How do i sort out RRAS? I need to be able to enable Basic Firewall on the WAN so that VPN users can access their computers. I have previously had problems with RRAS on reboot of the server, Rarepair.exe has fixed this problem every time but it's obviously not ideal! Last edited by kaymorris; 01-06-2009 at 04:44 AM. |
