Re: No Audio in windows 2003 enterprise server sp2
Interesting replies so far, but I'd say that you need to install the drivers for the audio hardware that you have in your computer. Normally the drives for that can be found on the driver CD that came with your motherboard (if you're using a standard desktop oriented motherboard with on board audio) or your computer. If you're using a server specific computer, like a Dell or HP server, there is typically no audio hardware. Do keep in mind that some hardware vendors don't provide audio drivers for 2003 server, however, often the windows 2000 drivers will work. No guarantee, but sometimes they do work.

Re: No Audio in windows 2003 enterprise server sp2
Not true .. server 2003 sound drives are often provided ..
Sounds like your whiteboxing, and since AC'97 is supported on 2003 there are drivers. Did you check the audio servce? unless you started it manualy, I can tell you right now its stopped. |

Got to go with Bilbus. Even if you have the drivers the audio service is disabled by default and you need to go in and manually turn it on.

Server 2003 and intel onboard AC97 are not big friends. Turn on the audio service and then try the Microsoft Update for Server 2003 KB 901105
