reformatting
we were given a computer from a friend and it needs to be reformatted. It has windows 2000. can it be done without a disc?

Re: reformatting
If you format, you lose all data and would need a disk to even put the OS back on there. Therefore, from what you said, don't format unless you have the OS disk.
