[SOLVED] Home Server Installation Crash
I have been unable to install Windows Home Server. The installation proceeds through the "Preparing Installation" phase. There is a brief moment when the screen displays the message "Rebooting OS," and then the entire process begins all over again with the monochromatic screen and the "Loading Files" progress bar.
I thought for a while that the problem was an external SATA expansion card, because the crash was preceded by the familiar "Press F6 or CTL-S to enter Silicon Image RAID Utility," so I removed the card. Now, the only difference is that I don't get the message. Installation still bombs. FYI Processor: I am running an AMD 3400+ processor on an ASUS K8V SE Deluxe motherboard with only one HD plugged into an onboard SATA port. Only other hitch is that early in the installation I get a screen message saying that I don't have a HD big enough to host WHS, and I have to point to the VIA RAID controller before installation proceeds. Any suggestions? |
