OS: windows server 2003 sp2

worng destination
while working on a server i shared a file with all the other users. i mapped the file and gave the path name drive Z, now the file showed up in my computer window under the category of network drives. i opened it, it was connected and i could view the files. no problem there. but i decide to map a shortcut on the desktop. it was made. but when i click on the folder it should direct me to the same file. but instead i get another window with the name of desktop, with all the desktop icons. i checked the path and it was correct. i tried to map again same problem. help!!!!!
