Microsoft System Security Service (Lsecpol.exe) Failed
I have a windows 2003 Standard R2 Server that I recently installed Symantec End Point Protection on.
It automatically found and deleted a file called Lsecpol.exe (some sites have it listed as 1secpol.exe). Unfortunately upon its deletion "Microsoft System Security" Service Stopped as it relied on that file to run. The problem is the Workgroup and Server Services are dependent on this service that nobody seems to have heard of before and I need to get these services working. I would rather not have to rebuild the computer and I would just copy the file from another server as I administer many... unfortunately none of them have this same service or file on them. Unfortunate as well I did not build this server so am not sure what add on may have installed this service. Any help or a place I can get this file would be great! Thanks Justin |

Re: Microsoft System Security Service (Lsecpol.exe) Failed
can you run a HJT log file and post the results.
Try to run your secpol.msc (C:\windwows\system32\secpol.msc)This is the secuirty and settings policy GUI. I can find anything on M$ website about the EXE you listed. Last edited by XtabbedoutX; 10-24-2008 at 02:13 PM. |
