Windows Server 03 auto update causes share point services to fail
So the our windows 2003 small business server automatically was updated last night by Microsoft. It was then automatically restarted. Normally this works fine.
When I got into the office i noticed the error message that at least 1 service or driver failed at start up and then it said to see events log. So I checked the events log and it is giving me this error message. Windows share point services 2.0 error. It is giving me this error 3 times or so per minute in the event log. None of our desktop computers can access the server. Anyone know what the problem might be? thanks |

Re: Windows Server 03 auto update causes share point services to fail
A temporary fix would be to remove the update and restart. Last nights update was for a Critical Vulnerability that involved network traffic.

Re: Windows Server 03 auto update causes share point services to fail
We actually got it working by restarting it the 3rd time. But I am curious as to how I could have rolled back the update? We don't have system restore on this server.
Or any other tips on protecting myself from this happening in the future? |
