Trying to make a new GPO

I am using Win Server 03 R2 SP3. I have several gpos applied to my forest, but there is one thing that doesn't seem to work. I have tried to block certain websites based on user configuration. Youtube, Myspace, facebook, ebay,..etc and When I set up a gpo to block this through the content advisor it doesn't work. Domain>User Config>Windows settings>Internet explore main>security>Content! I have imported them from the server, and to no avail! Someone please help!! I don't know what else to do. I don't want to do it at the firewall level because then NO ONE can hit those sites. I would like to do it based on user credentials, and the OUs they belong to.

Thanks!

Re: Trying to make a new GPO

hi there

once you have crated the GPO, and set it up in the group policy managment, and it is all good there, go to one of the client computers and in a cmd window type "gpupdate /force". this forces the computer ot go and fetch the new policys.

hope this helps, if not let me know and ill try to help further

Re: Trying to make a new GPO

I had already done that. Besides, I have it set to refresh on each computer every 5 minutes, or on log off. I did a gpupdate to no avail before I posted this.

Re: Trying to make a new GPO

I applied it to an OU. Its for a specific group of people, and all the other changes I made took affect.
