sbs 2003 ip shortage
I keep getting 1020 warnings in my event viewer about a shortage of ip's. running SBS 2003 is it just a matter of changing the subnet to increase the range or is it more complicated than that.
Thanks |

Re: sbs 2003 ip shortage
hi, firstly can you tell me how many computers/devices you have, and also find out where your IP address leases start and finish. you shouldnt be running out of leases or you wouldnt really be using a SBS server.
in the DHCP console you should just have to change the subnet. it may also be worth checking where all the addresses are going, and also leave a gap at the start incase you need to statically assign addresses. hope my ramblings have made some sort of sence, if not let me know Muz |

Re: sbs 2003 ip shortage
Hi Muz you were spot on, I found that the person who installed the server had only allowed a range of 20 ip's to be assigned dynamically. I have changed this and it has fixed the problem. Thanks for your help
