Network logon and share problems on Win 2003 domain

Hi
I have a Domain Controller on a Win 2003 Server Standard 32b, also server for an application. All the workstations are running XP Prof (most of them) or XP Home.
The Server have some shared folders for everyone in the domain.
Sometimes I encounter difficulties of logging on the domain on some stations. The logon lasts too much (usually it is a 10 sec. logon) - 1 min maybe, and the account does not have access to the shared folders from the server. It seems that the workstation is not logged on the server at all (it may use only the local logon info, saved from a previous successful logging procedure). If I reboot the workstation, log into an Administrator of the domain, logoff and log on inte the normal user account, the situation get normal. And, very often, the problem will not appear in the next logging processes.
Also, sometimes all the stations access very delayed the server shared resources. It lasts about 10 min. If they shut down and restart the workstations, at logon everything is ok regarding the shared resources.
Please tell me where is the problem?

Thank you
Splint

few questions... Do your users have roaming profiles? What kind of memory do the computers have? Do you use switches or hubs?

Hi

We are using switches.
The users don't have roaming profiles.
Regarding the memory: are you asking about RAM memories? I think DDR2.

Thanks

Check your DNS settings. Logons/offs can take a very long time if the DNS is incorrect on the workstations
