I am running Win Server 2008 as a file server and have a shared folder that everyone has mapped as their X: Every 2 days users will not be able to access the shared folder but I can ping the server and also unable to manually map the drive. When users try to open an excel or word file on the shared folder their computer will hang and stop responding.
When I rebooted the server the drive becomes accessible. I am not seeing any errors in the event viewer and am baffled as to what is going on. If anyone has any idea or has had this happen to them I would like to know how they fixed it |

Re: Windows 2008 file server
Hi Flannes
I have the exact same problem - just as you described it. Did you find any solution? You can e-mail me at toe (at) ac-intelli.com. Thanks. Thomas Quote:

Re: Windows 2008 file server
Give this a try. The client side Browser sometime overrules the Servers which is causing the disconnect.
This article explains how to disable the browser on the client side |
