Windows Server 2003, DBs and Non-English Language
Hello all
I have some dbs (1 sql, 4 mysql and several access) in my vps (win03serv) With my multi-languages websites (greek/english) where greek texts are written directly to the html pages... i have no problem... everything looks fine but all the greek texts that they are produced from any type of database are wrong.. Actions that i have done ------------------------------ 1. Regional settings / everything in greek 2. Converted all of my Access dbs in access97 and works but this solves the problem only in Access -its still not the right way because we will lose some functions of access- 3. I've checked my old machine's MSSQL and i saw that the master collation is in Greek. In this one its isn't. 4. I've checked my old machine's MySQL, everything is the same with my old machine. The only difference is that this one doesn't show greek text properly. 5. I've re-installed an MySql Db with all the properties in greek/greek text but is still doesnt work! Cons ------ I suppose that the problem is something in more basic level ( maybe windows, maybe plesk) because in my old server03 nothing of that where needed to see greek. I know from former installations of MSSQL that master database takes the collation of the root machine, which is latin in that case... i really dont know what!!! Thank you all |

Which version of MSSQL are you using?

Re: Windows Server 2003, DBs and Non-English Language
i found the reason but not the solution...
in vps you cannot change the regional settings different than the root host... this causing all the problems :( i changed to dedicated and everything seems to be ok |
