DC Server is getting shutdown everyday

Hi,

I have a problem regarding the shutdown of Server. I have a Server(Domain Controller) running with W2k3, but since past few days it is getting off automatically shutdown sometimes everyday or sometimes in two days.

The folowing is the error message:

Error: Other (Unplanned), reason code: 0xa000000 - This event refers to the failure indicated by the previous EventLog 6008 event. The User32 1076 event

Please I will be thankful if somebody can suggest me the solution.
Thanks in advance.

Re: DC Server is getting shutdown everyday

If this is a terminal server, apply a policy revoking users from seeing the "shutdown option".
This looks like someone remoted in and then instead of "logging off" clicked shutdown.
In addition, there were a few windows updates recently that might be needed.

Re: DC Server is getting shutdown everyday

Hi lowkey77, thanks first for your responce. This server is a DC so only Domain admins are allow and I have bieeng looking around and 70% they say if of a power off ... can be anything... started from a domain admin to the electricity company or a UPS problem. But I believe the local admin. that , that is not the problem. We use WSUS in the forest so every server or computer is up to date like it most be ... but you never know with MicroSoft. Thanks anyway , see you later.

Re: DC Server is getting shutdown everyday

Hi

Just a few questions

1) Hve you checked for the latest updates from Microsoft ?
2) What updates or apps have been installed within the last week ?
3) Do you have enough cooling in your Server ? could be over heating.
4) What other users have Admin access ? have you tried all a new password to all users to see if this makes a differece

thanks
Alistair
