Remote Desktop Connection between XP Pro PC and Win Server 2003 Server

I am trying to use Remote Desktop Connection to control my server (using windows server 2003 OS) using a UMPC (Laptop/Desktop running on Windows XP Pro). However I encountered some issues:

Firstly, I took control of the server by connecting to the server thru a Remote Desktop Connection and the desktop of the server was displayed on my UMPC. Then I tried to open a program which I coded using Visual C++. This program is only a simple windows dialog box for me to enter certain digits (see Photo1.jpg).

When i input digits into the textbox and hand-over control back to the server, am I supposed to see the application on the server desktop with the input values I entered in the textboxes?

Anyone can advice me? Thanks

Re: Remote Desktop Connection between XP Pro PC and Win Server 2003 Server

Not sure what you're stating is the problem. Basically if you want to see EXACTLY what the administrator sees on the dekstop, then you'd want to modify the program settings for the Remote Desktop icon. Add a /console to it and that should make sure they see the same thing. The command should look like this:
%SystemRoot%\System32\mstsc.exe /console

I find that there were some things that I couldn't see remotely that I could see when I accessed the server directly, changing this resolved that.
