Default profile for roaming
Hi there all,
So, I have a server on a domain, and I would like to use it as a server for storing profile data for my user base, but it is not the primary domain controller. So, I have the roaming profiles all pointing to the share location, but when I try to log on, it just says that the profile could not be loaded. This is obviously because the profile on the server is not created yet. Now, I know I need to make a default profile, but I haven't the faintest idea where I'm supposed to put it so that the systems will know where to get it. Am I correct in my thinking of how this all works? It should automagically create the profile directory by filling it with the default, once it has a default, right? Thanks much guys. I'd really appreciate some advice on this. Per |

Re: Default profile for roaming
Where you place the location of the profile to be stored on the profile TAB in AD try this.
\\SERVER NAME\PROFILES\USERNAME OR something to that effect. |

Re: Default profile for roaming
The profile location is globally set to use environmental variables.
\\%ProfileServer%\%ProfileShare%\%UserName% I have the environmental vars set to my desktops and if I type in everything before %UserName%, I get to the folder successfully, so I think the permissions are set right. Per |
