RAID1 on WIN 2003 SRV
Hi guys,
I have built a 2003 sbs server with one SATA HDD (250GB). The server has a SATA SCSI ctrl. (4-ports). NOw my question is; Can I add a second HDD so that the existing setup now changes to RAID1 without having rebuilding the server from scratch? Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks, Data_Lore Last edited by Data_Lore; 08-20-2008 at 11:39 PM. |

Hey,
Yes shouldn't be a problem to do this if you already have a SCSI controller. You should make sure the secondary HDD is the same or as close as possible to your existing HDD, eg. make, speed, size.... |

Re: RAID1 on WIN 2003 SRV
It is advisable to be same make/model and size but you should be able to do that if you do not have same HDDs...
When you add second HDD, go to Disk management and initialize the disk... Right-click on second disk and create mirrored volume [RAID-1] Then convert disk to dynamic disk... |
