Creating batch script

Hi All

Im trying to create a batch file to run on Windows 2000 server. The commands I want to build into the script are

To monitor spatial connections (gsrvrs) :

Sdemon -o status -i caps_sde -s ep-caps

To kill all sessions :

Sdemon -o kill -t all -p sde -i caps_sde -s ep-caps

I want to run these commands every day at 7.00pm. Can anyone give me an example of how I can create a script. Please

Many thanks

Re: Creating batch script

Since those appear to be command line statements that you'd run from DOS (aka command line), you should be able to create a .bat file and then schedule it to run at the time you'd like. Of course, batch files tend to run in sequence and typically wait for the previous command to finish before starting the next one.

Batch files run just like programs (and yes they sort of are programs) when you need a series of commands run. Just go in to notepad and create a file, for example gsrvrsmon.bat (can be any name you want) and then put the commands you want in there and save it. Of course make sure you have your paths correct to the executable files. Then you can go to START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEM TOOLS>SCHEDULED TASKS and create an entry for your file.
