Remote maintenance of workstation in a network
i want to maintain a network in US torough on line. i am in india. They are Having one 2003 server(HP) with ISA and Exchange, 28 workstations and 8 Network printers. they are having one Public IP address. I want to do the following tasks through online. give me some tips to start this work.
Task: User directory backup. Server patches Update. Antivirus Update. Workstation maintenance. Exchange server – Mail Box Backup. Give me some stranded tools to solve this problems. |

You would probably be best off using a VPN for connection ease and security to the remote LAN.
If the workstations are running XP, you can use remote desktop to administer them (with sala's terminal services patch so that the users can access the machines at the same time), but unless Server 2003 has a terminal server license along with it, you won't be able to administer it without some sort of VNC. That's not a huge issue though if you're using an encrypted VPN, since the connection will be passing through that anyway.
